Pyramids!

Today we saw the great pyramids! They were great!

We even got to go inside one and climb the outside of another. Our hotel lobby was full of tourists and the pyramids were pretty crowded too. Our tour guide says it's sad that so few tourists are coming to Egypt, I'd hate to see what this was like at it's peak. I wonder what other "troubled" countries we can visit to avoid the crowds. We also stopped at the step pyramid, a couple of other tombs and a perfume shop on our way to the train station for our overnight train to Aswan. We are still not sure if we are taking the train though because apparently the train (operated by the government) hit a bus carrying school children and about 50 kids died and there have been people blocking the tracks in protest (rightly so). If we do ride it tonight, we have been advised to pack our own food since the meals they serve can sometimes be questionable. Travel sure is fun!

We have also been joined by 3 others from another travel company. 2 are from Australia  and 1 is from Singapore. So our tour is now a little less private, but there are so many tourists everywhere we weren't feeling that isolated in the first place.
