Florence

We did 2 different tours of Florence today, 1 that was neat but kind of boring and 1 was a private tour for us with a woman Erin wants to adopt as her grandmother. Opinionated, British, called every child "brat" (such as "Duke so and so had a brat that ruined their family name..") and she even handed out chocolates and peppermints from her pockets. She made our day.

We touched base with Shelby and Erin's Dad again tonight and even though nothing much has changed in terms of his health Erin has decided she wants to come home early to be with her family. Her condition for doing this however was dependent on me finishing the trip without her. I'm not a fan of this arrangement, I would rather come home with her but Erin insists that if I at least finish the trip it will not feel like we were missing out on anything especially since she has already been to Rome 2 times. So when I am heading to Rome tomorrow at 11 am and Erin will be flying to Houston from Florence.
