Hong Kong New Year

This week is the Chinese New Year! What does this mean? Well nearly all of the chinese in the area are off from work, the restaurants and stores are shut down, and everyone has emptied the ATMs of cash.  But it does also mean AMAZING fireworks in Hong Kong.  24 minutes of non stop fireworks from 3 seperate barges at the same time.  That's about as long as a TV episode.  Erin was recording it and ran out of batteries it was so long.  It was also the best fireworks display I have ever seen, and I've seen quite a few.  They even had fireworks exploding into shapes, like hearts and Shamrocks.  I didn't even know that was possible!  It was a fun trip topped off with a visit to Morton's steakhouse.  If only it had been on the 14th, and been my idea, it would have been the best valentine's day ever.  Now I have to search China for an open flower shop during their equivalent of X-mas.
